Sweeney McGann LLP Solicitors Named National Law Firm of the Year at 2026 Irish Law Awards
Sweeney McGann LLP Solicitors has been named Overall Winner – Law Firm of the Year at the 2026 LEAP Irish Law Awards, one of the highest honours in the Irish legal profession. The award was presented at a gala ceremony attended by more than 650 legal professionals at the Clayton Hotel Burlington Road, Dublin, on 12 June.
The firm also secured the prestigious Civil Litigation Law Firm/Lawyer of the Year award for the Munster region, marking another milestone in the firm’s long-standing reputation for legal excellence.
This national recognition is especially fitting as we celebrated 30 years in business last year. Founded in 1995 by Gearóid McGann and David Sweeney, the firm has grown to one of Ireland’s leading regional legal practices, employing 27 staff and serving clients across Limerick, Munster and nationally. Gearóid McGann remains a central figure within the practice and continues to play an important role in the firm’s ongoing success.
Today, the firm is led by Joint Managing Partners Shane O’Neill and Aoife Hennessy, supported by 3 fellow partners. Their collaborative leadership model reflects a progressive approach to management and succession planning that has positioned Sweeney McGann LLP as an innovator within the legal profession.
