A Message from our Family Law Department

We, at Sweeney McGann, are fully opperational during this difficult time and our Family Law Team would like to let you know that we continue to work as hard as ever.

While, many of our clients cases have been adjourned during the last month, the Courts are still dealing with urgent cases. Domestic violence applications will as always be given priority, so if you need a protection, safety or barring order, please don’t hesitate to contact us as we can still bring an application to court on your behalf.

This week our Family Law team have attended to a number of matters to include domestic violence and breach of access. Although applications for breach of access or maintenance are not generally considered to be urgent at this time, according to the Practice Direction of the President of the District Court dated 16th March, 2020 the President has stated that a case which does not come into the defined urgent category can be treated as urgent if a good case can be made.
